Laser Cutter

What is a laser cutter?

A laser cutter is a computer-controlled machine that uses a concentrated beam of light to cut or engrave various materials. Imagine a super-powered hot knife that can precisely cut through wood, fabric or even acrylic with pinpoint accuracy!

We have an Aeon Mira 9 (900 x 600mm bed) laser cutter.

We supply plywood and acrylic in the below sizes:

  • plywood - we stock poplar in 3mm and 5mm thicknesses in a 800 x 600mm size (also available in half and quarter sizes)
  • acrylic - we stock various colours in a 3mm thickness in a 800 x 600mm size (also available in half and quarter sizes)

You can bring in your own materials provided you let us know in advance so we can make sure it is suitable for our machine and for use in our communal space. * Cannot cut hardwoods like mahogany ** CO2 lasers only mark bare metals when anodized or treated. Please note, we do not allow MDF in our machines.
