Star Wars Day 2025

We celebrated May the Fourth in style!

Our May the Fourth celebration at Te Āhuru Mōwai was a fan favourite, almost as legendary as the Millennium Falcon!
Star Wars fans of all ages joined forces for a fun, interactive day filled with crafts, characters, and community.

Here’s a quick look at what made the day special, Yoda would approve, he would:

We had photo opportunities with a Stormtrooper and a Jawa from Outpost 42, perfect for capturing your Star Wars spirit.
Our craft activities were a huge hit, with workshops like the Lightsaber earrings, Tote bag/pillowcase sublimation, and Laser-cut coasters. Participants also enjoyed making their own Lightsabers, Badges (for a gold coin donation), and creating Character lanterns.

The event also featured an exciting VR Lightsaber Dojo, allowing attendees to immerse themselves in virtual lightsaber combat. For those aspiring to become Jedi Masters, there was Lightsaber Training led by the Palmerston North Knights lightsaber group. Adding to the fun, we hosted a friendly Lego Race Challenge and an engaging Scavenger Hunt. A big thank you to TWB Framing and Art Supplies for generously providing puzzles for our giveaways.

The day was capped off with raffle draws and spot prizes for the best costumes in the galaxy!

It was truly a day filled with lightsabers, laughter, and light-speed fun. Whether you were a Jedi, a Sith, or just passing through the Outer Rim, there was something for everyone.

Ben Pryor photography captured all of these incredible images.

Thank you to all who came… may the Force be with you, always.
