Manawatū Community Hub Libraries is so much more than a traditional library. With daily programming, bookable spaces, and a café on site it’s the perfect place to explore, create and connect. Here are a few of the things on offer this July:

Make a splash these school holidays by crafting your own quirky diver at Manawatū Community Hub Libraries on Monday 30 June, then swim it over to the Makino for our fun-filled Diver Art Competition!

Your diver will join a colourful underwater gallery on display at the Makino all holidays long!

Awesome prizes up for grabs in three age groups:

  • Preschool
  • 5-8 years
  • 9+ years

Important dates:

  • Create your diver at Manawatū Community Hub Libraries: Mon 30 June
  • Drop entries to the Makino: by Wed 2 July
  • Winners announced: Friday 11 July

Get crafty with popsicle sticks, googly eyes, straws - anything to make your diver shine!

This July, journey to the stars with Spaceward Bound NZ and their incredible Star Dome experience. Step inside the dome for a captivating, guided experience where science meets storytelling themed around Matariki, New Zealand’s stunning clusters of stars that mark the Māori New Year.

This event is free, but due to limited places be sure to book so you don’t miss out!
