Murder Mystery Night 2026

Cowboys, clues and a killer hiding in plain sight.

Our sold-out Murder at Sundown in Silver Creek (18+) transformed Pātiki, Te Āhuru Mōwai's large event space, into the bustling Wild West saloon, The Rusty Spur, where secrets were currency and suspicion lurked among the crowd.

Guests embraced their roles with enthusiasm, arriving in cowboy hats, corsets, waistcoats and boots, ready to interrogate suspects, uncover clues and crack the case. The immersive Silver Creek setting, created by the MCHL Programmes team, brought the story to life and set the scene for an evening filled with laughter, intrigue and unexpected twists.

As the mystery unfolded, strangers became teammates, theories were debated, and clues sent even the most confident sleuths in the wrong direction. The biggest twist came during the dramatic final reveal, when the Sheriff was unmasked as the murderer, prompting an audible gasp from the crowd.

Prizes for Best Dressed, Most in Character and Best Sleuth celebrated the creativity and enthusiasm that made the evening so memorable. Perhaps the greatest measure of success came after the case was closed, with guests already asking, "When's the next one?"
