You can book a meeting room to create your own experience or let the MCHL team take your celebration to the next level with a staff-led activity. From VR adventures and craft workshops to Just Dance battles and soft play for the little ones, there’s something for every age. Yes, even adults!

Hold your birthday party or social event in either Pātiki Onepū or Pātiki Tahuaroa on a Saturday or Sunday anytime from 9:30am.

Your booking is for 2-hours and includes use of the kitchen (there is an oven for reheating available in the kitchen).

Cost: $80

Hold your birthday party or social event in either Pātiki Onepū or Pātiki Tahuaroa on a Saturday between 10am – 4pm.

Your booking is for 2-hours and includes a MCHL team member running an activity for up to an hour during your booking (usually starts 30minutes after your booking starts).

Cost $140 – maximum of 15 participants

Activity Option 1: Soft Play

The room will be set up with Softplay equipment including a ball pit plus colouring in and a story read by a MCHL team member.

Suitable for those aged under 5 years

Activity Option 2: Craft Workshop

Our team will discuss an activity with you to determine the right one for your group. For activities using Makerspace equipment (like sublimation) there will be additional costs to be determined by Makerspace activity chosen and associated costs.

Suitable for those aged 5 and above (yes, we can even tailor packages for adults parties too).

Activity Option 3: Virtual Reality

Up to three VR units are available to use for your group to explore VR, with games like Beatsaber, Fruit Ninja, Work Simulator, Rollercoasters, and more.

Activity Option 4: Just Dance

The room will be set up with our Just Dance set up. Your participants will take it in turns individually, or as groups of up to 4 to dance the day away.

  • Your 2-hour window includes set up and pack down time in either Pātiki Onepū or Pātiki Tahuaroa. If you would like additional time this will be charged at the room rate.
  • Room only bookings on Sundays are during unstaffed hours and you will be issued with a pin code to access the facility and your room. You will be required to undertake fire warden training prior to your booking. The capacity limits for the rooms are 50 or 70.
  • Minimum of 3-days’ notice for a Saturday room only booking.
  • Minimum of 2-weeks’ notice to book a Sunday room only party or a staffed activity party.

  • Request your booking online through the bookings portal (choose the birthday party option from the list of drop down options). Once your booking is confirmed, you will be emailed a link to pay for your booking (you can also bring your booking confirmation into Te Āhuru Mōwai and pay for your booking in person). Bookings not paid for 24 hours prior to the party taking place may be cancelled if another booking request comes in.
