The speciality items in this collection give you access to technology, equipment, and resources you may not have at home. With this collection, you can learn something new, refresh an old skill, explore a kit, or take on a project and all of it is free to borrow.

Simply choose a CD case from the selection near the children’s area in the library and take it to the MCHL front counter. A staff member will retrieve the item and issue it to your account.

  • Loan Period: 2 weeks (no charge).
  • Holds: Available on all items in this collection.
  • Renewals: Items may be renewed 2 times.
  • Returns: All speciality items must be returned to the MCHL front counter during staffed hours.

MCHL Membership terms and conditions apply when you borrow an item from the library of speciality items collection. These are available from the MCHL front desk. When you borrow these items, you are responsible for:

  • Returning it by the due date, clean and in the same condition as when you borrowed it.
  • Any loss, theft or damage that occurs to the item while it is on loan to you.
  • Reading and following any instructions included with the item.
  • Using items in a safe and proper manner, and only for the purposes for which it is intended and/or as set out in the instructions. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Manawatū Community Hub Libraries assumes no responsibility or liability for any injuries, damage to self, others, or property as a result of any use or reliance on the item you have borrowed. Nothing in this disclaimer is intended to limit your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.

If you discover a fault with the item or if it is damaged, please stop using it immediately and return it to Manawatū Community Hub Libraries.
