Donate your loved but clean sports equipment to Replay & Sport Manawatū by dropping it off at Te Āhuru Mōwai, Manawatū Community Hub Libraries situated on Stafford Street.

Do you have sports equipment collecting dust in your shed or cupboard? If it’s still in good, clean condition, pay it forward by dropping it in the ‘Donation Station’ at Te Āhuru Mōwai, on Stafford Street during staffed hours. Your donation will be distributed to a child in your community to encourage an active lifestyle.

“A major challenge faced in our community is the absence of adequate sports equipment, or in some cases, a complete lack of gear for individuals, schools, and community organisations.” Megan Hennessy, Sport Manawatū PARS Community Lead explains  “The donation stations helps to limit the cost barrier to sport some families face.”

REPLAY, established in 2017, is dedicated to redistributing both new and used sports equipment including rugby boots, hockey sticks, and tennis rackets benefiting individuals, families, schools, organisations, and the community, with over 45,000 items successfully redistributed.

In 2023, Manawatū Community Hub Libraries generously received play equipment from Replay - NZ to be used within the community Play Trailer at local events. When asked to be a collection point, it was a no brainer as “we reexperience the benefits firsthand each time the play trailer is used.” Marie Willis, the community hub programmes leader, remarked.

Sport Manawatū partnered with Replay through the donation stations to provide local tamariki and rangatahi with the chance to be active, joyful, and healthy.
