Biggest-Ever Turnout for Family Fun Day
Family Fun Day 2026 delivered its biggest event yet, drawing an impressive crowd to Victoria Park in Feilding on Sunday and reinforcing its reputation as one of the Manawatū District’s most loved community celebrations. Now in its fourth year, the free event brought together people of all ages for an event filled with smiles, fun memories, connection, and community.
Hosted by Manawatū Community Hub Libraries / Manawatū District Council, the event offered something for everyone. From inflatables and interactive activities to live entertainment, tasty treats, giveaways, and community stalls, the park was full of energy from 10am to 1pm. With everything completely free, Family Fun Day continues to break down barriers and ensure every family can take part.
Community Programmes Manager Marie Willis said she was delighted with the turnout and the atmosphere on the day. “It’s incredible to see so many people coming together, enjoying themselves, and making connections. We put a lot of care into creating an event that feels welcoming and accessible for everyone and seeing the smiles on people’s faces makes it all worthwhile.”
A key part of the event’s success is the strong presence of local community groups, clubs and organisations, who hosted free interactive booths and connected with hundreds of people, sharing opportunities to get involved in the community.
Family Fun Day 2026 was made possible thanks to the generous support of sponsors, led by major sponsor Central Energy Trust.
