Hop Into Backyard Adventures

Families are invited to hop into Te Āhuru Mōwai these April school holidays, where the theme is Backyard Explorers. Manawatū Community Hub Libraries (MCHL) has put together a programme full of creativity, discovery, and Easter-themed fun.

The programme offers children and families the chance to explore with a wide variety of workshops and activities designed to inspire making, building, and discovering. From crafting jellyfish and bug hotels to creating embroidered tote bags, there is something for every explorer.

Families are encouraged to book early for workshops, as demand is expected to be high and sessions are already filling. Popular activities include Build-a-Bunny Basket, Wild Wind Chimes, Backyard in a Jar, and Tote Bag Embroidery. These workshops are available from $8 -$35 and give children the opportunity to create something special to take home.

Alongside the paid workshops, there are also plenty of free activities on offer, including Virtual Reality sessions, Movie Monday, and the MCHL Play trailer, which will make an appearance at the Feilding Farmers Market.

A highlight of the holiday programme will be the Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday 4 April, 11am – 3pm where children can purchase a $2 wristband and take part in a token hunt throughout the library. Tokens can then be exchanged for chocolate eggs, creating a fun and rewarding easter experience.

MCHL invites the community to bring their whānau along to explore, create, and connect these school holidays in a welcoming environment.
