Take it anywhere… Borrowbox
Looking for something good to read or listen to while you are out and about this summer? Manawatū Community Hub Libraries (MCHL) makes it easy with BorrowBox, a free digital platform giving members access to eBooks, eAudiobooks, eMagazines, and ePress (Newspapers). Whether you’re at the beach, on a road trip, or relaxing at home, BorrowBox lets you enjoy stories, magazines, and news anytime, anywhere.
BorrowBox can be used through a web browser or the BorrowBox app, which includes a built-in eBook reader and audiobook player. With offline access and automatic place saving, you can pick up right where you left off, no matter where summer takes you.
To celebrate reading, MCHL is running the Library in Your Pocket summer photo competition. Readers are invited to share photos of their eBook, eAudiobook, or digital magazine being enjoyed in favourite summer locations. To enter, submit your photo with a short caption by direct messaging Manawatū Community Hub Libraries on Facebook or Instagram, or by emailing your details and photo to mchl@mdc.govt.nz. The competition runs from 10 December 2025 to 28 February 2026, with all entries going into the draw to win an MCHL prize pack.
Warrick Taylor, MCHL Digital Specialist, says, “BorrowBox puts the library right in your pocket. It’s an easy, free way for people to enjoy books, audiobooks, newspapers, and magazines wherever summer takes them.”
For those who would like a bit of help getting started, Tech@10 support sessions are available at MCHL on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10am to 11am, with staff ready to help with phones, email, apps, new devices, and using BorrowBox.
Borrow it, download it, take it anywhere.
